I don’t like the interior and overall decoration of my room. What can I do?

The ECCS strives to provide you with apartments which at any rate meet certain basic standards and requirements, i.e. heating, hot water and air conditioning. Furthermore all apartments should be ready and functionally (!) furnished. Unfortunately the ECCS can’t give any guarantees regarding western quality or your personal aesthetical preferences. Instead you may go to Beijing’s IKEA branch, Metro, Walmart or Carrefour. Here you’ll find all the things you already know from back home. A nice bed cover, cushions and a bunch of candles might give a personal touch to your room.

Walmart (Map) – 知春路甲48-4, Haidian, , Beijing, China

Metro (Map) – 1号 Xinjiangongmen Rd, Haidian, Beijing, China

Please be assured that the ECCS does the utmost to provide nice and decent places for all its students. However, housing rent is a significant factor in this process and the availability of cheap housing near China’s most popular universities is getting difficult more than ever. If there are reasonable issues with an apartment then we can try to find a different accommodation for you, if the issues can not be worked out with the landlords.
